DIY Scrabble Tiles

So a coworker of mine hired me to stretch a custom canvas for her cousin a few weeks back, it was 5'x4'. While speaking to her she saw online some scrabble tiles and wondered if I could make her some for her daughters room. Of course you know what my answer was.... ABSOLUTELY!  So I went home and cut out 7"x7" squares from some left over wood from a previous project, sanded them down, rounded the edges and voila. I hand painted these in black, and then gave them one coat of polycrylic to give them a nice shiny finish. Plus it helps protect them. I like how they turned out, and I think I like them better with this unfinished feel as well. Don't mind the shell casings there in the background, I work at a scrap yard and we find them almost daily in the yard. I know, I know, the thrill of danger right?

Dry Erase Koi

So I have this dry erase board in my office that I use to draw on. Yesterday I was looking to put something on it and came across a Japanese Koi fish on the internet, I liked how it looked so here is my version of it.

I couldn't let it be, so I added a bonsai tree, temple, and
mountain range to the background. Looks finished now!

Company ad

A few weeks ago a coworker of mine asked if I would be interested in coming up with an ad for the company I work for. The add would run in local papers and maybe some billboards. At first I wasn't really interested, but then a few ideas struck me and the rest as they say is history. Here is a picture of the printed version I came up with. It's very retro and I thought would fit well with our location being in a more rural area of South Atlanta. Let me know what you think!

Here are the digital concepts w/color before print.

Master Bedroom Makeover

In case you heard about it and havent seen pics, here are pics of my master bedroom makeover I surprised my wife with last month. Love how it turned our and I have to give props to Ikea for the idea on making a closet space in a small room. We now have 2 closets in this room. Now on to the "Yellow Room" as I have affectionately named it....ENJOY!

Reclaimed wood bench

This is a bench that I made last week for my kitchen from scrap wood I found at my job. If you can't find it, I say MAKE IT! Now all i need to do is fill in the holes with wood filler, paint it, and have a cushion made for it. I LOVE how it turned out. See what a wild imagination, some left over wood and about 6hrs can do for you.

I stumbled upon this once b4, so I had to share it the second time I came across it. Quilling as it is called is proly not for me b/c it requires great patience I think and great precision. But Yulia Brodskaya is amazing and known the world over for her amazing works. You can check her out via the link below but here is a pic of just one of her amazing works. GO CREATE!
